Admission stages

Admission to a university abroad consists of several stages:

The first stage is an invitation to study at a higher educational institution.

Important! Invitations to study for foreign citizens are issued by higher education institutions and registered with the Ministry of Education.

An invitation to study does not mean automatic admission or guarantees of admission to the university.

The invitation is issued by the university with the aim of arriving in the country and passing entrance exams at the university.

After exams, applicants can be enrolled as students.

You also need to pay attention that entrance exams in most cases are an interview and do not require special training, in comparison with the admission and requirements for local citizens.

Education takes place in Russian, Ukrainian and English

For a particular language, a group of 10 to 20 people is formed.

In cases where the applicant can not pass exams in these languages, he is enrolled in the preparatory faculty for foreign citizens. Also, when the level of training is lower than required, the applicant can be enrolled in the preparatory faculty.

Education at the preparatory faculty lasts from 6 to 12 months, where future foreign students study language, history, mathematics, culture. This gives them the opportunity to decide on the future profession and university.

How to get an invitation to study?

To get an invitation to study at a university, it is necessary that you fill out a form, choose a specialty, or choose a preparatory faculty.

List of required documents for issuing an invitation:

Full duplicate passport copy
Copy of education certificate with grades
Indicate the country in which you will apply for a visa

Get a visa

The second step upon admission is to obtain a visa to the country of study.

To apply for a visa with the aim of “studying at a higher educational institution”, you must contact the nearest embassy or consulate in your region.

To apply for a visa, you must provide the documents:

Original of invitation to study at the university.
Original of foreign passport.
Fill out a visa application form.
One color photo of 35×45 mm in size on a white background on matte photo paper.
Health insurance for a foreign student with a cover of EUR 30,000 or another currency equivalent.
Documents confirming sufficient financial support during the planned trip.
Payment receipt of consular fee.

Passing exams

The third stage is to come to entrance exams.

After obtaining a visa to study at a university, a foreign applicant must come during the exam period.

When arriving at the airport and passing through border control, you must have the following documents with you:

Passport document with a visa.
The original of invitation to study from the university.
Medical certificates about the state of health.
Education document.
Health insurance for foreign citizens.
Financial resources no more than 10 thousand US dollars.
Booking or paid hotel room.
Return ticket with an open date of 1 year.

List of required documents for admission of foreign citizens to universities:

Original of study invitation issued by the university.
The original and 2 notarized copies of the document on previous education.
The original and 2 notarized copies of the addendum to the document on education, which lists information about the passage of disciplines and grades.
A notarized copy of the birth certificate.
3 notarized copies of the passport.
A notarized copy of the health state certificate.
12 photos 3.5 × 4.5 cm (color on a white background, on a matte photo paper).

When applying documents to a university, all documents must be translated and notarized according to the legislation of the country of issue or legalized by local state authorities (apostille or consular legalization).
